California Chardonnay is not only distinguished for its quality, it is remarkable for variety. Since the state covers such a vast landmass representing many different ecosystems, it encompasses an amazing diversity of growing regions as well, many of which produce Chardonnay that is equally unique and locally characteristic. A number of vineyards utilized by Turning Leaf wines, for example, are situated in one of California's most productive agricultural centers, an area in the middle of the state that stretches from the Sacramento Valley in the North to Bakersfield in the South.
